Rotary Club of Innsbrook Weekly Meeting Highlight

This week, we had the pleasure of hosting Robert Pollard from the Virginia Sportfishing Association! Robert gave an insightful talk about the importance of protecting Virginia’s precious fishery resources, with a special focus on the critical role of Menhaden, often called the "most important fish in the sea."

Menhaden are vital to the marine ecosystem, and Robert stressed how essential it is to conserve this species to maintain balance in our waterways and support the health of the fishing industry.

We also got a sneak peek at the beautiful Little Free Library built by our very own Kevin, Scott, and Dennis! This library will soon be installed at the Coal Pit Learning Center, providing free books to the children and families there. We're excited to see the positive impact this project will bring to the community.

We encourage everyone to learn more about Menhaden and understand their crucial role in maintaining the health of our ecosystem. Protecting these fish means protecting our waters and all that rely on them.

A huge thanks to Robert for educating us on this critical topic, and a big round of applause to Kevin, Scott, and Dennis for their hard work on the Little Free Library!
