From early elementary school, the pitching circle was Michelle Floyd's second home. What started in San Marino Little League, has continued on to Italy, Colombia, and Japan, this summer.
Michelle in high school was a three time CIF Southern Section All State Pitcher. She set a number of records including being No. 9 in the All Time List of Most Strike Outs for the Southern Section.
She and her San Marino teammates took their little league team to the Western Regional finals where, if not a quirk in the rules, they would have gone to the Little League World Series. With her club softball team, she went on to win two national championships. Michelle was among the first in her graduating high school class to verbal, committing to the University of Arizona in the fall of her sophomore year in high school.
Michelle, last week competed in the World Cup of Softball, throwing against the number one rated team in the world, Japan. She is currently pitching in Colombia for the Barranquilla (the South American equivalent of the Pan American) games. After Colombia she will travel to Japan for the first 2020 Olympic softball qualifier.
Her father, Dan, will highlight the roller coaster ride that Michelle and her parents have gone through...with the dream continuing every day.
