Thank you for accepting the position of RYLA Chairperson in your club. RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Awards seminar) is considered one of the most exciting programs for youth that we have. The RYLA conference will be held at Pacific Lutheran University on March 7-10, 2019.
Here is a suggested schedule that will help you get things done smoothly and on time:
1. Consult with your Club
. Check with your president to determine how many students your club wishes to send. Students must be sophomores and juniors in high school. Clubs may send 1 student for every 40 members in their club. The following breaks down the number of eligible applicants per club:
2. Reserve space for your student(s).
- 0 – 40 = 1
- 41 – 80 = 2
- 81 – 120 = 3
- 121 – 160 = 4
Once your club decides how many students it intends to send, complete the online reservation form below to hold their seat. Registration is not complete - and the space for your student is not reserved - until payment is received. The cost of registration is $325.00 per student. The early bird price of $275 will be accepted until January 13, 2019 or for the first 50 student registrations.
Please forward a check at your earliest convenience, made payable to: Rotary Int’l District 5030 in US funds. Canada clubs please make sure your check or money order is drawn on a US funded bank, not a Canadian one. Please send the check to the following address:

New this year: the RYLA Committee will only refund 50% of any registrations cancelled after February 28, 2019.
3. Pick your student attendee(s).

Check with your high school(s) and enlist their help. If you enlist help from the high school(s) in selecting your students, please communicate closely with them (regarding deadline, transportation to and from RYLA, etc.).
4. Let us know who you picked.
Once you have selected the students who will attend, let us know their name and email address (email us at firstname.lastname@example.org). We will send all students a link to complete the registration forms online! The deadline for receiving student applications is Friday, February 22, 2019. We will be sending each student information on what to bring along with a campus map. It also includes phone numbers and when it starts and concludes.
5. Make sure your student attends.
Registration is from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm on Thursday, March 7. The conference ends around 11:00 am on Sunday and students can be picked up at Olson Auditorium where they registered.
