Club Description:

Our longstanding community project is the annual Christmas drive for families in the immediate Hastings area. We also provide full tuition scholarships for local High School students to attend the intensive and powerful RYLA annually, and in 2018 are looking to work with schools to develop Early Act programs as we can for children in pre and elementary school programs. In a partnership with Coastal Rotary Group of St Augustine, we look forward to re-building the Interact program in the High School. Our focus is on education and literacy opportunities as well as bringing the community together for cultural and historical events. We support our local Senior Center - COA program, as well.

The Rotary Club of Hastings is currently engaged in supporting an initiative to rejuvenate Hastings Main Street and is working with town leaders, church leaders, business owners and other generous Rotarians to bring this vision to reality. This collaborative organization is known as Hastings Team Up. Phase 1 has progressed to the point where the club now has drawings with elevations and is now entertaining bid estimates for work on the historical WPA/CIVIC CENTER site. County tourism, cultural and historical councils have all toured the site and attended meetings and are in favor of the project and supportive of grant applications through their agencies. Pedro Menendez High School students in the drafting science program have designed vision drawings of the rejuvenated site.

2019 will see the second year of our signature fundraising (and town-raising) event for this club that will be 92 in February of 2019. Keep watch for THE GREAT HASTINGS MOW DOWN, a  lawn mower racing event for all ages! Mark your calendars for March 9 and don't miss this premo fun event! This will be held at the St Johns County Fairgrounds.

We're small, but we're passionate about making a difference today and into the future. And, we love visitors, so check on our location for the meeting that week and join us!
