For the last 13 years John has been the Executive Director of the Rotary Club of San Jose. John will be sharing highlights from the early days of San Jose Rotary, explain the critical changes that have occurred during the past 30 years, and offer some suggestions about what Rotary will need to do to continue thriving in the years ahead.
After graduating from law school, John and his wife Sharon spent 20 years growing a successful newspaper printing and publishing business which they sold in 1997.
Committed to building our community, John served on the Boards of numerous nonprofit organizations including the Metro YMCA, Children’s Discovery Museum, American Lung Association and the San Jose Silicon Valley Chamber of Commerce where he was the Board Chair. He has served on public advisory commissions to seven different Mayors, was one of the founders of Joint Venture Silicon Valley, and served six years as a Trustee on the 8,500 student Morgan Hill Unified School Board.
