We Did It! Our Club Wins EPIC Platinum Award
The EPIC Award—standing for Engage, Promote, Inspire, and Connect—recognizes clubs that go above and beyond in enhancing Rotary’s public image. For us, public image isn’t just about social media posts or event flyers. It’s about telling the powerful story of Rotary. It’s about showing our community who we are, what we do, and why it matters. When people see the impact of Rotary, they are more likely to engage, partner, and join our mission. We’re also proud to stand alongside several other clubs in District 6970 who have earned this recognition. This award is a meaningful reminder that our efforts—both big and small—are making a difference. It also challenges us to keep pushing forward, to keep telling Rotary’s story with authenticity, energy, and heart. We can’t wait to see what the new Rotary year brings. Let’s keep up the momentum and continue to show the world the beautiful work of Rotary. |

![]() Our very own Glenn Warren was recognized as a new Major Donor Level 1 at the District 6970 Conference held June 6–7. Congratulations, Glenn—our club is incredibly proud of you! In Rotary, a Major Donor Level 1 is an individual or couple who has cumulatively contributed between $10,000 and $24,999 to The Rotary Foundation. This recognition is based on personal contributions, not recognition points. Major Donors at this level may receive a crystal recognition piece and a commemorative pin. Rotary would not be able to make a global impact or respond to the needs of vulnerable communities without the generosity of donors like Glenn. Thank you for putting "Service Above Self" into action. |
![]() The Rotary Club of Orange Park Sunrise is proud to recognize Albert Hon, a longtime and deeply committed member who currently serves as Club Director. As he celebrates 25 years of perfect attendance this month at our Installation Banquet, we reflect on his remarkable journey and the legacy of service he continues to build. Albert joined the Rotary Club of Orange Park Sunrise in the summer of 2000. Not long after his induction, he was asked to chair the club’s program speakers for the upcoming year. That early invitation to serve made a lasting impact. “I believe I remain a Rotarian 25 years later because I was put to work shortly after my induction,” Albert shared. “Since then, I’ve felt like part of the Rotary team.” His involvement quickly expanded. Over the years, Albert has held numerous leadership roles within the club, working his way from Sergeant at Arms to Treasurer, Secretary, President-Elect, and eventually President during the 2013–2014 Rotary year. His consistent leadership and support of club initiatives have made him a trusted and valued voice on the Board of Directors, where he has served for the past ten years under ten different club presidents. Albert’s steadfast commitment reflects his personal mission: to serve others, especially those less fortunate. “Service has always been a part of my life, and Rotary has opened that path,” he says. Please join us in celebrating Albert Hon—not only for 25 years of perfect attendance, but for 25 years of making a difference through Rotary. |

Supporting the Next Generation of Service: Interact in Clay County
The Rotary Club of Orange Park Sunrise is proud to support the youth of Clay County by sponsoring two Interact Clubs—at Ridgeview High School and St. Johns Classical Academy. These clubs are part of Rotary International’s youth service program and serve as a platform for students ages 12 to 18 to explore leadership, community service, and global citizenship. Although project themes vary by year, some examples of Interact service projects include:
These projects demonstrate how students are capable of making a real impact when given the tools and support to lead. Under the leadership of Paul Arnett Goodier, the club’s Youth Services Chair, the Rotary Club of Orange Park Sunrise continues to mentor and guide Interact members as they discover the power of Service Above Self. Through Interact, students learn that leadership starts with compassion—and that every act of service, big or small, can help build a better future. |

![]() Celebrating 25 Years of Service: Rotary Club of Orange Park Sunrise — People of Action On May 2, 2000, the Rotary Club of Orange Park Sunrise was officially chartered, proudly sponsored by the Rotary Club of Orange Park. This year, we celebrate 25 years of unwavering service, fellowship, and dedication to making our community and the world a better place. For a quarter of a century, our club has been a shining example of what it means to be People of Action—a global movement within Rotary that reflects the very spirit that drives us forward. Through impactful service projects, strong community partnerships, and professional networking opportunities, we've remained steadfast in our mission to serve others above self. While Rotary is a name many people recognize, not everyone understands the depth of our work or the heart behind it. That’s where the People of Action campaign comes in. It answers the essential question: "What is Rotary?" Rotary is made up of committed volunteers—neighbors, friends, and leaders—who channel their skills and expertise into meaningful projects that solve real problems. From feeding the hungry and supporting education, to improving access to clean water and promoting peace, we don’t just talk about making a difference—we take action. The Rotary Club of Orange Park Sunrise embodies this idea every day. Whether it's organizing local initiatives or supporting global efforts, our members consistently rise to the occasion. We come together not just to serve, but to inspire change, build relationships, and strengthen our communities. As we reflect on 25 years of service, we look ahead with excitement and renewed commitment. We remain united by the same guiding principle that has always connected us: We are People of Action. Thank you to all our members, past and present, and to the greater Orange Park community for being part of our journey. Here’s to the next 25 years of service, leadership, and impact. |
