Welcome to the Palm Beach Flagler Rotary Club

We pride ourselves on being a FUN club! The Palm Beach Flagler Rotary Club was chartered in 1996. Up until that time, there was only a lunch club that met in Palm Beach. We were often approached by men and women in our community who wanted to be a part of Rotary but were unable to join due to time constraints that prohibited them from committing to a weekly lunchtime obligation. We are the first and only breakfast club in Palm Beach. We make a point of always concluding our weekly meetings at 9:00 am so as to minimize each member's time away from one's work obligations. Effective January 1, 2022, we have moved "just over the middle bridge" to Hyatt Place in West Palm Beach which is one block west of Flagler Drive on the corner of Lakeview Avenue and South Olive Avenue.

The name of our club pays tribute to Henry Morrison Flagler. One of the historical and architectural gems located on the Island is the majestic Flagler Museum (pictured above and courtesy of State Archives of Florida, Florida Memory). Originally named Whitehall, this magnificent mansion was built by Henry Morrison Flagler in 1902 as a wedding present for his then third wife, Mary Lily Kenan. It consists of over 100,000 square feet and 75+ rooms and was described at that time as "more wonderful than any palace in Europe, grander and more magnificent than any other private dwelling in the world". In danger of being razed, Henry Flagler's granddaughter formed a nonprofit corporation in 1959, purchased and restored this structure to its opulent beauty and today, the Flagler Museum hosts over 100,000 visitors each year.

The vibrant pink and green colors on this page pay homage to Lilly Pulitzer, one of the most famous residents of Palm Beach. Lilly moved here in the late 1950s. She turned the Palm Beach fashion world on its head. The then traditional and conservative attire in primarily navy, red and white, gave way to her bold, bright and fun fabric designs and colors. Today, her fashions epitomize the Palm Beach resort lifestyle.
