Family of Rotary
. . Family of Rotary...Rotary is about community. The community we live in, the worldwide community and the community of Rotarians. When we share in community, your problems become my problems and your joys - my joys. Therefore, Rotary families matter to Rotary, the family of Rotarians and the Rotarian's family. If we are to live out the Rotary ideal, to create a better world, we must start with the family. We need to care for all the members of our Rotary family, because without each other there is no community. Because we want to increase Rotarian satisfaction, improve retention, involve more people in Rotary events, make service projects more successful, and have greater support for The Rotary Foundation and International projects, we place emphasis upon: * Enjoyment * Retention * Recruitment * Foundation

Community Service
Monday, March 5, 2018 By James E. Waldron Jr. Providing for our Community is a cornerstone of Rotary. As a leader in your community you have a keen understanding of the needs of your community. Rotary uses that knowledge to focus our attention. The Rotary Club of Columbia County helps our community in many ways, with our main focus on literacy. We have donated needed books to North Harlem Elementary and the new Sail school. We support Communities in Schools, the Dolly Parton Imagination Library, and Partner with the Greater Augusta Partnership for Literacy. We also do Sweat Equity Service project such as: we built a rest shelter on the canal, Garden pavilions at Pendleton King Park, and Wheel chair ramps for local residents home in need. Currently in 2018, we are planting 23 trees at the same Sail School. You will see us at the MS Walk, The Best Dam Bike ride, and the Men's Breast & Prostate Cancer Walk. We are always looking for ways to improve our Community. |
