What is Sunrise Rotary Club?

The Rotary Club of Tulsa Sunrise, known as Sunrise Rotary, is a group of business, professional and community leaders joining together in friendship, fellowship and service.

While "Service Above Self" drives Sunrise Rotarians to contribute their time, talent and treasure to our community, the lifelong friendships that result are what we point to with equally great pride.  Through Sunrise, we fulfill Benjamin Franklin's promise that "the good that men & women may do separately is small compared with what they may do collectively."

Sunrise Rotary was chartered in 1982 and has grown from an initial membership of about two dozen men into a strong and active group of about 60 men and women.  Sunrise Rotarians are of different faiths, nationalities and political affiliations who find challenge, interest and satisfaction in being a Rotarian.

As the name implies, Sunrise Rotary meets in the morning - a breakfast club.  Meetings are normally held at the Tandy YMCA in Tulsa, with food service starting at 6:45 a.m. and the meeting beginning at 7:00 a.m.  As one can tell from the hour we meet, a Sunrise Rotarian is a fun-loving, special kind of person, one who's ready-to-go and take on the day and its opportunities full speed ahead.  Sunrise Rotarians are committed to have fun in all that we do ("Is it fun?" is a Club maxim).

Our weekly meetings are known for their interesting and informative guest speakers.  Monthly social events are always fun and cement an even greater bond of friendship among Sunrise Rotarians.

What is Sunrise Rotary Foundation?

In 1988, Sunrise Rotary Club chartered its own 501(c)3 charitable foundation.  Our foundation provides financial support for the charitable activities of Sunrise Rotary Club and Rotary International.

Tulsa Sunrise Rotary Foundation Mission Statement:

“To support local organizations, with a special focus on education and children’s needs, and to support regional, national and international Rotary projects.”

Each year, the Tulsa Sunrise Rotary Foundation holds a spectacular fundraiser to assist organizations who are bringing awareness and assistance to families, children and their caregivers experiencing the wide spectrum of autism disorders.  Tulsa Sunrise "Maine Lobsterfest and Charity Auction"
and "Appetizers for Autism" have been successful fundraising events supporting individuals with autism in our community.

In addition, Tulsa Sunrise Rotary Foundation provides funds for Charitable Grants, Youth Scholarships and Youth Programs in our region and internationally!

What is Rotary International?

Founded in 1905, Rotary International (RI) is the world's first and largest service organization, supported by a global network of 1.2 million members in over 34,000 clubs and located in more than 166 countries.  RI is the parent organization of the Rotary Club of Tulsa Sunrise.

Around the globe, Rotarians meet weekly to build lasting friendships and carry out a wide variety of service activities.  Each Rotary Club is autonomous and plans its own social activities.  Rotary clubs also create their own service projects based on local interests and abilities.  Rotarians frequently develop and promote programs that they personally care about, at the Club, District or International level.

Millions of Rotarians are united in providing humanitarian service, encouraging high ethical standards in all vocations, and building good will and peace in the world.

We invite you to join us for any Wednesday 7:00 a.m. meeting, in person or via Zoom!
