World Polio Day - October 24th

OCTOBER 24th is WORLD POLIO DAY - Polio was once one of the most feared diseases in the United States. Thanks to vaccination, wild poliovirus has been eliminated in this country. The best way to keep people safe from polio is to maintain high immunity (protection) against polio in the population through vaccination.Endemic transmission of wild poliovirus is continuing to cause cases in border areas of Afghanistan and Pakistan. Failure to stop polio in these last remaining areas could result in as many as 200 000 new cases every year within 10 years, all over the world.

Your donation helps Rotary and its partners reach every child with the polio vaccine. Thanks to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, your contribution will be tripled, getting us even closer to a polio-free world.  The Rotary Club of Redmond supports the global effort to eradicate this awful disease.  Donate online: www.endpolio.org/donate     WATCH VIDEO

has been competing in motocross events for 20 years. Justin is a top rider in the nation with several X-Games medals.  “We do X-Games style tricks and such you see on TV all the time, but you have never seen in-person.  Senior Center Operations Manager Randy Graves said, “We’re going purchase new chairs for our dining room with this wonderful Rotary donation as we have a great congregate that comes every day for meals, and we are in great need of new chairs,”  Each year, the Redmond Rotary Club chooses a different charitable organization in Redmond to donate the money they raise at the jump show.
