Rotary Corner

Jump for joy!

The club leaped into the air at the end of the small celebration acknowleding the completion of the Rotary Corner project on the corner of Grant and Main.  This was the culmination of a project done in cooperation with the  City of Lebanon.  Excellent work was done by Drew Briese Construction in creating the concrete planters and benches, plus embedding the Rotary Wheel in the center of it all.  The City finished the corner in time for the opening of the Thursday Lebanon Farmer's Market on May 22nd.  Many were acknowledged for their work in making this happen; club members Kristin Hyde, John Dinges, Kent Haworth, and Alesanne Dugan for putting together the presentation.  The club recognized Drew Briese for the creative work he did on the project awarding him with a certificate and a $100 donation to the Lebanon Skate Park in his name, a cause he is championing.  Also recognized is Jason Williams of the City as the lead contact with the Parks Committee.  Present also were several City employees and Michelle from the Farmer's Market.

The World's Biggest Commercial

We are "This Close!" to ending polio.
On February 6th after our club's business meeting several membres and junior Rotarians group together for a picture with everyone making the "this close" gesture. This picture was uploaded to the "End Polio" website and added to "The World's Biggest Commercial". The commercial is an attempt to be in the Guinness Book of World Record for the largest ad. We join such individuals as Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Bill Gates, Paul Gasol, and many others. The picture had to be broken into 3 parts but everyone was eventually added. We are in the 45 minute to 50 minute range on where we appear in the commercial.
