The Rotary Club of New Brunswick is offering a new and very exciting event to raise funds for the club's foundation (to help various local projects) and for the Prevent Child Abuse organization of New Jersey. On Thursday, March 2, 2017, student teams in fashion and costume design programs in area high schools and colleges will compete in a unique fashion show called "Rags to Runway" (click here for flyer). Students will create designs from materials purchased at local thrift shops; professional designers will be the judges. The event will also have catered food by area restaurants, and there will be music and other entertainment in between the fashion show segments. The event is being held at The George Street Playhouse, 9 Livingston Avenue, New Brunswick from 6 PM to 9 PM. To support Rotary, the Playhouse is making their facility available for this event free of cost. Tickets can be purchased on-line at georgestreetplayhouse.org for $60 each.
