Big Canoe

Tatyana Kuprienko, originally from Russia, was part of the Georgia Rotary Student Program more than 20 years ago. She credits GRSP with helping her achieve the life she now has, including two degrees, a career, and a family. She recently spoke to the Rotary Club of Big Canoe about her GRSP experience.



Cherokee County

The Rotary Club of Cherokee County brings flowers contributed by Poole Funeral Home
to the residents of Sunabella of TowneLake Assisted Living.

Colombia



Wes Barney and his falcon, Tanner. Wes spoke to the Colombia Club about Falconry. 75% of juvenile raptors do not live to adulthood making falconry an important part of preserving America’s Birds of Prey.

Dawsonville



On Thursday, July 21, District 6910 Service Program Director Tim Ranney discussed what Rotary is doing to help Ukraine. With him is Michael A Liberatore, President-Elect, and Club Programs Chair for Dawsonville.

 

Rotary President Nicole Stewart and Service Projects Chair Randy Wells presented the club with 500 earbuds and 120 headphones that will be donated to Dawson County students for Stuff the Bus!

Duluth

On July 29, Duluth Police Chief Belcher, who retired after 45 years of service, spoke to the Rotary Club of Duluth. President Justice French and Teresa Lynn presented Chief Belcher with a gift on behalf of the club. The club also welcomed Police Chief Jackie Carruth, pictured with Justice, who is Chief Belcher's hand-selected replacement.


 

On July 13, Teresa Lynn presented Past President CJ Graves with a framed Proclamation by Duluth Mayor Nancy Harris, naming June 30, 2022 President CJ Graves Day to mark the final day of his highly successful year in leading the Rotary Club of Duluth.
 

Gainesville

Out-takes from the Rotary Kiwanis Golf Tournament




Gwinnett

On Saturday, July 30th, the Rotary Club of Gwinnett County hosted their first service project of the year by hosting Kicks for Kidz at Dick's Sporting Goods with partners, ViewPoint Health, Dick's Sporting Goods, Rainbow Village, Department of Human Services, and Victorious Church. Their goal as a club this year was to raise $6,000 from members and they well exceeded that. Rotarians and their family members spent several hours serving Gwinnett County Public Schools children by providing new athletic shoes for the upcoming school year. While final tallies are not in, they estimate that they helped give away 300 pairs of shoes to kids in need.




 

Habersham

Habersham Rotary welcomed DG Gerry Taylor to a planning meeting of the board of directors as well as the general membership meeting on July 28. Pictured with President Lisa Smith, the District Governor assisted with inducting two new members during the meeting. 







The Rotary Hartwell is excited to be under the leadership of new president, Joni Ingram. She’s off to a great start.

Jefferson City

Rotarian Kendall Sims, CEO of The Boys and Girls Clubs of Jackson County, along with student employees -- Julie Wehunt and Jonathon Neal presented a fantastic program on July 26 about the great things happening at our boys and girls club. Julie and Jonathon and Mr. Sims included what being a "club kid" and employer means to them. President Traci Bledsoe is also pictured.

Peachtree’s very own JP Harrington just celebrated 57 years of marriage to wife Pat.  
Everyone was happy to celebrate this milestone with JP and Pat!

Union

Union County GA Rotarians and community volunteers continue work on the new public park in downtown Blairsville.

Winder



The Rotary Club of Winder planted a raised garden "Salsa Garden" at the Wimberly Center in Winder.



The Winder Club also donated backpacks and time to help at a drive-thru fundraiser for our Corporate Members Adventure Bags, Inc.  Adventure Bags is a state-wide organization that makes sure that children in the care of Georgia DFACS have basic hygiene items, toys, and activity books.  Rotary Club of Winder member, Steffanie Sorrells, the Assistant Governor for Area 11, was on hand to help collect the bags at the event! 



The Winder Club helps at the monthly Feeding Families food distribution and boxing. Whenever the need arises for the club to assist families in need, they heed the call. 



At the end of the year party, the president presented club members with awards for their continued service to Rotary and the community. Here, President Julia Simpson awards the Farm Girl Chic and Social Award to President-Elect Staci Waters. 





The Winder Club entered the Loganville Rotary Club Wing Fling fundraiser, and they really did fling some wings —600 to be exact!
Chef Michael McIntyre completely outdid himself with his chipotle maple wings and homemade ranch dressing! Many thanks to the McIntyre family for their dedication to this fundraiser!
