Fundraising Campaign for Students in Haiti

Support the Humanitarian School Adelia Felix, Tabarre, Haiti

Adelia Felix is a Grade 1 – 6 School that serves impoverished students in the communities of Dumornay, Truittier, Galette, Tapaje, and Soisson in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. The students are at least 3 years older than the traditional age for those grades, and they would not otherwise have an opportunity to get quality education and improve their lives.

The easiest way to support the school and their students is by providing student scholarships. Each scholarship is USD $150/student. The scholarships will assist with tuition, a daily meal (in some cases this is the only meal the student will have each day), and school supplies.

Education is the key to changing the trajectory of a child’s life.

Queen City Honor Flight - May 26, 2018 - Welcome Home

QCHF LogoQueen City Honor Flight May 26, 2018 mission will proudly fly area World War II veterans, Korean War veterans, Vietnam War veterans, and those with a life-limiting illness to their memorials in the nation’s capitol.

Please join us for a Welcome Home to our vets of the Charlotte and surrounding areas.  This is the 2nd flight from the area in years.  Over 186 veterans and guardians will be on the May 26th flight.

After a day of being honored in DC, there's nothing like ending this memorable day than having your family and hometown folks cheering and welcoming you home!

Bring your flags, get ready to shake some hands and pat some backs and to say thank you.  (I've heard many many times from vets, that its the welcome in D.C. and the arrival back home that is their highlight of the trip.  That people thanked and remembered them.)  And oh yes, u may want to add a Kleenex or two in your pocket.

Flight will leave D.C. at 8:00PM and is scheduled to arrive back home to Charlotte at 9:35PM, although flying time is only 50 mins. So would advise you to be there nice and early.

Please take a few minutes of your time to come and welcome home these vets, some, the first welcome home they ever got,  and make a lifetime impression and memory for these heroes.

Important message for volunteers, family and friends

Department of Homeland Security takes our airport security very seriously. Therefore, it is imperative that gate passes are issued to all volunteers and other participants.

Anyone wanting to participate (volunteers, guardians, patriot guards, honor guards, family, friends or those who just want to be there for the welcome home) MUST go to the VOLUNTEER LINK on the Queen City Honor Flight website to sign up! This MUST BE DONE MAY 1st through MAY 22nd. Everyone MUST HAVE gate passes to participate. Anyone wanting to welcome home the veterans without a gate pass will not be given entry.

For more information about how to get involved in Queen City Honor Flight, make a donation, or to get a veteran signed up for a flight, please visit the Queen City Honor Flight website at
